Danielle Burt

Danielle Burt is a skater, snowboarder, bodyboarder/surfer and she has a prosthetic leg above the knee. This girl is amazing, same with her story.
Have you struck up a relationship with motorcycles again since your accident?
Eh, a little one. I'll ride if given the opportunity but I don't own one. I definitely still have a love for them but I'd rather go out and shred.
When was the last time you were in the ocean?
Yesterday.
Body boarding? Nope, surfing. Just had a surf leg rigged up and I absolutely love it.
Have you been riding your cycle?
Not as much as I should. Surfing is my biggest focus now.
Fixed gears or multi-speed?
multi-speed for sure.
Leather Pants or Jeans?
Cut off jeans
What has been the hardest thing about your prosthetic?
The socket! Im a hard fit apparently.
How did you feel when you got the news about M.J.?
Really surprised and sad. Another legend passes.
Favorite M.J. song?
Don't stop till you get enough and scream
Youre a pretty sick breaker. Poppin or Lockin?
That's hard. I really love both but if i had to pick it would be popping.
When was the last time you were on your skateboard?
Earlier this year
Why? Photoshoot with Ian Ruhter.
Challenged Athletes Foundation Triathlon. What do those words make you think?
How do they make you feel? Much respect and love for them. They came to see me while I was recovering from my accident and showed me I can still be athletic. Without them, it would have taken me much longer to be where I'm at now.
Did you know that we are going to have an AAS team for the 2009 triathalon?
I didn't.
Did you know we love ya?
Of course :) and I love you! Do you need a swimmer?
Finish this statement. Ten years from now I will be
still shredding and living/loving life to the fullest.
How have you adapted since your accident in all aspects of life?
It's slowed things down for me so I could really take a look at my life and what I wanted out of it. It's given me a career path, showed me all the strength I have, and renewed my love for sports.
Favorite movie?
Amelie
You came out to USASA Nationals with us this year. How was that experience?
It was great! Really inspiring to see everyone shred. I had a blast and always have the best times meeting up with the AAS crew. Shout outs? Shout out to the whole AAS crew! Especially to Amy and Daniel for making it happen.
