Oscar Loreto

Oscar Loreto, Jr. was born in Hollywood, Ca in July of 1986 and was raised in Lynwood, Ca where he was introduced to his first look at action sports. Oscar was born with a congenital birth defect that caused him to be missing his left foot, his left hand and four fingers of his right hand. After countless doctor visits as a child, he learned and adapted to his prosthesis quickly. He learned to write with both his hands and lived a close to normal childhood. Soon after middle school Oscar and his mother moved to Downey, Ca. Downey would now open Pandoras Box of skating.

Knowing he had a challenge in front of him, Oscar learned how to skate with a prosthetic leg. It was frustrating and difficult for Oscar to learn tricks on his skateboard, but after hard work and determination he slowly progressed. Being new at Downey High School, Oscar quickly found himself spending time with other skaters. They automatically clicked and Oscar formed a skate team  named   VOID Oscar and his team of skaters produce their own skate videos in order for them to gain exposure.

Oscar received his first sponsorship at his local skate shop: Downey Skate, and now through Adaptive Action Sports he has a product sponsorship through ELEMENT Skateboards. Oscar does well in the local skate world and other outlets including through his prosthetic company Scope Orthotics and Prosthetics whom he is also sponsored by. They are not hesitant at all to sponsor Oscar and help out with any skating equipment he needs. Ossur Foot Manufacturer also gladly gives Oscar a new foot every time he breaks it, which is very often! We are so proud to have Oscar as a friend and part of the AAS Family!

Oscar continues to skate daily while going to school, filming, editing and producing skate videos and videos for Adaptive Action Sports.
